(I love my view!!)    I’ll be the first to admit I don’t know alot about other lakes in Texas.  I grew up at Lake Texoma – it’s a huge, wonderful lake so I guess there was never much reason for me to search elsewhere for a place to enjoy our water activities.

  Recently I took a trip to Austin, I drove everywhere trying to acclimate myself with the lay of the land.  I wanted to find the best views, the greatest spots to put your boat in and where it would be ideal for one to live if they were going to live on this lake.  2,600 miles later I did find a spot that touted amazing views, a couple of spots that I thought maybe I could ride the golf cart or scooters around in (for anyone who knows me – they know I love to ride my little golf cart around!) and some homes that were quite outstanding.  I know tons of people love this lake – but personally I couldn’t wait to get  home to MY lake!  One of the professionals that I discussed homes with on my trip to Austin told me how the lake had 90 miles of shoreline and was over 18,000 acres… Looking back now it was probably a bit rude to then educate him on the fact that MY lake has 520 miles of shoreline and 89,000 acres! 🙂  But hey, it’s the truth!!

So here I sit this gorgeous morning with coffee in hand, watching the sun rise over the lake – confident that I am well aware of where the best spots for views are, where you have the best beach access, where the hole-in-the-wall restaurants that we all love are and that I’m lucky to get to live on the best lake in Texas!
